View Effectiveness of Trade Promotions
An article in the 2001 issue of Marketing Science about the effectiveness of trade promotions is abstracted here. Using game theory and economics, the authors determine that where manufacturers offer trade promotions, retailers may not pass on a low wholesale price to consumers because those consumers don’t have information about trade promotions. This may no longer be the case in today’s connected, Web-aware world.
